Well that won’t happen if you didn’t sleep well or if your loved one kept you up all night with their snoring.

Sleep Disorder #1: Insomnia
First sleep disorder we will be chatting about is Insomnia- What is Insomnia? What are the causes and symptoms?

Insomnia translated in Latin literally means “no sleep” and can be triggered by anxiety, depression, stress, anger, worry, or grief. To make this sleep disorder even unhealthier the exact symptoms that trigger it can get worse, so less sleep can amplify your depression or stress.

Symptoms of Insomnia include:

·             Tiredness or Sleepiness during the day
·             Feeling unrested after a night’s sleep
·             Can’t fall asleep at night
·             Waking up throughout the night
·             Difficulty remembering or focusing
·             An increase in errors or accidents

Now you may ask how do you prevent Insomnia? It’s actually quite simple, just keep a consistent bedtime and wake time and get some exercise! You will be shocked by how many sleep disorders and health issues you can avoid by simply doing these two things. And try to avoid large meals and caffeine before bedtime.

Sleep Disorder #2: Sleep Apnea
The second sleep disorder we will chat about is Sleep Apnea – What is Sleep Apnea? Does it cause snoring? What does sleep apnea sound like? - These may be just a few of the questions you have regarding this sleep disorder.

Sleep Apnea occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during their sleep, this means the body repeatedly stops and starts breathing. Sleep Apnea does not necessarily cause snoring but it is definitely a counterpart and if you or your partner snore very loudly, you may want to see a physician.

Symptoms of Sleep Apnea include loud snoring as mentioned before, as well as gasping for air during sleep, waking up with a dry mouth, difficulty to remain asleep (Insomnia), and times when you stop breathing and your loved one awakes you.

Now there are two types of Sleep Apnea – Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Sleep Apnea. Obstructive is the more common of the two and occurs when the muscles in the back of your throat relax and your airway narrows or closes as you breathe in. This triggers your brain to react and make your snort, snore, choke, and even gasp. Central Sleep Apnea is less common and it’s basically when your brain fails to tell your body to breath.

To answer a few common questions:
